Piercing Aftercare

  • DO NOT TOUCH YOUR HEALING PIERCING UNLESS CLEANING IT, AND BE SURE TO WASH HANDS THOROUGHLY FIRST.

  • DO NOT PLAY WITH YOUR PIERCING - it will take longer to heal and raises risk of infection!

​

  • Do not twist piercing, this will hinder the healing process.


  • Do not remove jewellery during healing process


  • Avoid tanning oils, lotions, sand, tight fitting clothing that may irritate piercing.


  • Do not soak piercing in water such as in a pool, spa or at the beach.


  • Do not use alcohol, peroxide, neosporin, tea tree oil or anything not listed in your aftercare unless directed by a doctor.


- Eyebrow, nose, septum, ears aftercare


  • wash hands thoroughly before handling jewellery. Leave jewellery alone unless cleaning it.


  • You will need to clean the piercing 2-3 times per day. Rinsing in the shower is fine in conjunction with sterile saline solution. Average healing time is around 8 weeks and 3-4 months for cartilage piercings.


-Nipples & Belly Buttons aftercare


  • same as above. Healing time is 4-6 months but can be up to a year. These piercings are fairly deep so continue with your aftercare during healing as they heal from the outside in. Best to continue for a bit after you feel they are healed.


-Tongues aftercare


  • Rinse with a 50/50 mix of non-alcohol listerine and water. Rinse first thing in the morning, last thing at night, and after anything goes in your mouth other than water (this includes, food, drink, cigarettes etc). You will need to rinse 12-24 times per day. Do not use full strength or listerine with alcohol as it can be irritating to the wound.


  • Avoid beer during healing as the yeast in it can cause a yeast infection. Ice and anti-inflammitaries such as ibuprofen can be used to aid swelling. Swelling should only last 1-4 days.

  • Please avoid sloppy kissing or any other fun oral activities for the first 3 weeks to avoid infection.


  • Healing time is approximately 4-6 weeks.


- All Lip area piercings


  • follow both ear and tongue aftercare instructions.


  • Healing time is 8-12 weeks.
